Research Interests
There are two research programs in this department: the Electronics & Systems Program and the Computer Engineering & Networking Program. The research activities are covering the following areas: automatic speech recognition (ASR), digital signal processing (DSP), human-machine interface design, image signal processing, wireless sensor network (WSN), omni-directional imaging (OI) technique, system on chip (SOC) embedded system, analog/digital communication, channel/source coding, information engineering, global positioning system (GPS), computer architecture, and internet/computer networking.
The major funding sources for faculty research include the National Science Council (NSC) and the Ministry of Economic Affairs. In addition, the department also receives research grants from industrial contracts and various outside research organizations. The faculty applies for research projects very diligently and enthusiastically.
